Clay Sculpting At The Winery

Learn how to sculpt clay wine bottle stoppers while enjoying a glass of wine! Join us for a pottery class taught by members of the pottery department from the Appalachian Arts and Craft Center in Norris, TN.

Each student will create three, Valentine's Day clay figurines; a rose, a heart and a kiss. Expert potters will lead you through each step of the process with hands-on instruction. Learn the basics of clay sculpting, glazing and firing. Perfect for a Galentine's event or create a beautiful hand-made gift for your Valentine. The class is $40 and includes all materials including firings, glaze and metal stopper. Appalachian Art Center Potters will finish the stoppers with glaze colors of your choice and glue them onto metal wine corks before returning them to The Winery for pick up.

Local meat and cheese trays, as well as discounted glasses of wine, slushies and ciders are available for purchase during the class. Arrive early to enjoy a $4 wine tasting, allowing you to try 8 of our amazing wines and choose your favorites.

Seating is very limited and tickets need to be purchased in advance. Please remember to bring a valid, photo ID. The clay will need to be glazed and fired before being returned to The Winery. You must return to The Winery at a later date to pick up your finished stoppers.
