Clay Hand-Building with Baltimore Clayworks

Pratt is excited to welcome Baltimore Clayworks for an exciting and engaging hands-on workshop. We invite you to join us in exploring the joy of working with clay as you learn the art of handbuilding.

We will work together to create both functional and sculptural forms using hand-building techniques. Participants will learn the fundamentals of three-dimensional design along with fundamental clay techniques, slab construction, coil building, and pinching to create challenging and exciting projects. The workshop will also dive into the importance of color and texture in design, as we learn to create surface decoration and apply glazes.

No prior experience required; all are welcome.

Please note: this workshop will require participants to pick up their kiln-fired pieces roughly four weeks after the program.
