In this four-week class, students will learn how to sculpt a hollow ceramic bust focused on the human torso—including the chest, belly, back, and hips. Over the first three sessions, instruction will guide you through the full process: planning the form, building a hollow structure, and refining anatomical details. The fourth session will be dedicated to glazing your finished piece.
This course emphasizes proportion, volume, and gesture, offering students a focused study of the body's core structure. Each participant will also receive 2 hours of weekly open studio time to continue work independently between classes.
Prerequisite: Basic handbuilding experience is recommended.
Includes: 4 weekly classes + 2 hours of open studio time per week. All materials and firings included.
Class Length: 2 hours per session.
