Classic Movie Night: It Happened One Night (1934)

August’s classic movie will be It Happened One Night! A rogue reporter trailing a runaway heiress for a big story joins her on a bus heading from Florida to New York, and they end up stuck with each other when the bus leaves them behind at one of the stops along the way. This is the first of three films in Oscars history to achieve the "Big Five" sweep: Best Picture, Best Director (Frank Capra), Best Actor (Clark Gable), Best Actress (Claudette Colbert), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Robert Riskin).
