Classic Alps Tour — 6th to 11th JulyThe PDDUK Classic Alps Tour takes you on an unforgettable journey through the mystical Black Forest of Germany and into the heart of the Swiss Alps. Experience some of the best driving routes in the world, including Germany’s iconic Black Forest B500 and the legendary Swiss passes: Susten, Furka, Grimsel, and Stelvio.
Along the way, you’ll visit the fairytale village of Grindelwald, dine in stunning mountaintop restaurants, and witness breathtaking glaciers and mountain ranges.
Enjoy thrilling activities such as drift trikes, cliff walks, toboggan runs, and ziplines.
The tour includes a night in the vibrant city of Basel, before ending in Davos — home of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Monday 6th July — Welcome to Baden-Baden, Germany
The tour begins in Baden-Baden, the gateway to the Black Forest.
This UNESCO World Heritage city is renowned for its thermal spas dating back to Roman times and for hosting some of Europe’s finest opera and classical concerts.
Your starting hotel is a modern country-style retreat surrounded by vineyards on the outskirts of the city.
In the evening, you’ll meet your fellow travellers at a welcome dinner, the perfect start to your Alpine adventure.
Tuesday 7th July — The Black Forest & Basel
Begin your PDDUK driving adventure through the magical Black Forest, home to some of Germany’s finest driving roads.
The route flows beautifully — sweeping curves, thrilling descents, and spectacular hillside views.
You’ll drive through the cobbled streets of Wolfach and continue to Triberg, home of the world’s largest cuckoo clock.
Lunch is reserved at a lakeside restaurant on Lake Titisee, followed by time to stroll along the water and explore local shops.
In the afternoon, cross the border into Switzerland and arrive in Basel, a medieval city rich in history and architecture.
During summer, you’ll spot locals floating down the River Rhine with their iconic “Wickelfisch” swim bags — a must-see spectacle.
Your stay for the night is a stylish modern hotel in the city centre.
You’ll have the evening free to explore, with a map and list of recommendations provided.
Wednesday 8th July — Grindelwald & Meiringen-Hasliberg
Today, the mountains call.
Leaving Basel, we drive toward the fairytale village of Grindelwald, enjoying a scenic route along the stunning Lake Thun (Thunersee).
Upon arrival, cars will be parked in a secure underground facility before taking a tram and gondola up the mountain.
At the top, experience the thrilling First Cliff Walk with unforgettable views of the Eiger Glacier — the perfect spot for a well-earned drink.
The afternoon is yours to explore: try the mountain carts, ziplines, local shops, and restaurants.
Tonight’s accommodation is in the hiking paradise of Meiringen-Hasliberg, between Interlaken and Lucerne, offering panoramic views of the Eiger.
We’ll dine together as a group in the evening.
Thursday 9th July — The Legendary Swiss Passes
A day of pure driving pleasure awaits.
Start with the world-famous Susten Pass — a masterpiece of mountain engineering, featuring tight hairpins, handcrafted stone barriers, and exhilarating tunnels.
Stop at the summit for coffee and panoramic views of the Stein Glacier.
Next, visit Sasso San Gottardo, a former top-secret Swiss military fortress deep inside the Gotthard Mountains. Enjoy lunch and time to explore this fascinating site.
The afternoon drive takes you over the Nufenen Pass — the highest paved road in Switzerland — followed by the spectacular Grimsel Pass.
Tonight, you’ll stay at a cosy Alpine hotel nestled deep in the mountains.
A curated list of nearby restaurants will be provided for dinner.
Friday 10th July — Furka Pass, Andermatt & Davos
Start the morning with the iconic Furka Pass, featured in the James Bond classic Goldfinger.
Pause for photos at the famous Hotel Belvedere, before descending through Andermatt to the scenic Oberalp Pass, where we’ll stop for coffee at the summit.
Lunch will be served at a charming mountain restaurant in Chur, followed by an optional toboggan run for thrill-seekers.
The afternoon route follows the legendary Top Gear Road from Chur to Davos (as seen in Top Gear, Season 10, Episode 1) — a stunning mix of mountain roads, gorges, and sweeping curves.
We’ll conclude the tour in Davos, at a luxurious spa hotel, where we’ll gather for a memorable farewell dinner.
Saturday 11th July — Departure
Check-out is at 11:00 am.
