Purple Rain is one of the greatest albums ever made. Chris Rouse knows this and is keen to keep the band on point and working hard to get to note for note perfection. He’s got a unique internal understanding of Prince, that really comes across on stage, commanding the room. When we walk onto the stage for this recital we’ll be accompanied with the legacy of one of the world’s greatest artists.Founded in 2003 by Craig martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage – not for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. “think of it as a recital,” says Martin “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin.
