Classes are back! Katherine Ng is teaching September 17-19 | 9:30-11am

Starting again this September 2024, ODD will be hosting morning dance classes! Most classes are contemporary dance based, supplemented with periodic Pilates classes and other somatic practices.

Some details:

• Classes take place in Studio B at ODD which is in Arts Court (2 Daly Avenue) on the 2nd floor.

• These are intermediate/advanced level classes, some contemporary dance experience is recommended. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions at [email protected].

• Classes are $12 and can be paid at the end of class in person by cash or card. You may also pay in advance, but ODD cannot absord the Eventbrite fees.

Description:

This class emphasizes contemporary and ballet techniques and focusses on the art of moving through space with precision and fluidity.

Bio:

Katherine Ng (she/her) has been working as a professional dancer since 2014. Born and raised in Ottawa, she graduated from The School of Dance Contemporary Dance Diploma Program with Director Sylvie Desrosiers. Starting in Montreal, Katherine had the opportunity to perform and create with Interlope, La Tresse and other companies while participating in many international dance festivals. She also had the opportunity to work on a touring production called Pearl Production with choreographer Daniel Ezralow. Where East meets West, Pearl Production had an exchange with dancers from Nanjing, China. Her most recent contract was with MGM in Macau, where she had worked with Michael Jackson’s trusted choreographer Travis Payne. Currently she is freelancing as a dancer in Ottawa and in 2023 she created her first solo, "calm and dormant with strength and power; sinuous and flowing”, which premiered in Montreal and was also shown in Toronto as part of the CanAsian Dance Festival and later in Ottawa at Ottawa Dance Directive.
