Rust Dyeing Class with Maggie Howe | Girl With A Sword Productions
Saturday, March 29th, 1pm-2:30pm
Class Fee: $50
Learn to dye silk and cotton fabrics with rust. Make BEAUTIFUL patterns, textures, and impressions with this simple but fascinating technique. All materials provided: you will make and take home your own fat quarter of cotton fabric and a silk scarf. Rust dyeing also doubles as a mordanting technique to use with other types of natural dyes, so it's a wonderful tool to have in your natural dyeing toolbelt. Weavers and knitters, this technique also works beautifully with sari silk fabric yarns, and Maggie will try to have some of those on hand available for purchase if you'd like extra items to dye. Minimum students 5.
This class is open to any and all!
Feel free to bring a snack and drink for yourself.
