Class - Musicality Basics
Advertisement
Musicality is more than counting the down beat in a song. (It’s okay if you don’t even know what a down beat is!) It’s a practice of listening deeply to music to find ways to embody musical phrasing and embellishments. Strong musicality can enhance your stage presence and help you build a persona.
In this class we’ll cover the basics of listening to music: finding the down beat, differentiating components like lyrics/melody vs. the bass line, and identifying movement that coordinates with what we hear. We’ll work together to build choreography using the skills we develop together, then practice adapting that choreography to different types of sound. This class will be challenging and fun!
This class can be done entirely seated.
