About this Event
Together we will install plantings in two bioswale areas within Clark Park to help manage stormwater, improve habitat, and enhance the beauty and ecological function of the park landscape.
A bioswale is a shallow, planted channel designed to slow down, capture, and absorb rainwater as it moves across the land. Instead of allowing stormwater to rush into streets, storm drains, and sewer systems, a bioswale directs that water into soil and plant roots where it can soak into the ground naturally. Bioswales are typically planted with deep-rooted native plants that help filter pollutants, stabilize soil, and support beneficial insects and wildlife.
Upon arrival, please meet with staff and other volunteers at our recreation center, located next to the ballfields.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kathryn Brennan at 313-561-0330 or email her at [email protected].
