Greetings, all! I hope you had a wonderful snowmaggedon and even more wonderful thaw. Time to get back to hiking business with a hidden gem. The south trail is the much-less-utilized trail of the Claremore Lake trail system, but it is also the most quaint hike at Claremore Lake in my opinion. Also, with the trail being the least utilized on the lake, it gives you a serene feeling of peace and solitude, but enough of my zen musings. The hike is pretty easy with only a couple of slight inclines along the way. There are some smooth-rock sections that could be quite slippery if wet from recent precipitation, so good hiking boots are recommended. Surprise, surprise, we will be hiking five miles.
