Hailing from the West of Ireland, CLADA is cutting through the noise with tight rhythms, fast paced tunes and an undeniable drive. Deriving from Irish music infused with more contemporary genres, CLADA’s timeless hooks are fused with relatable lyrics that are thrust forward by the band’s hard driven sound.
Orla Leavy takes the reins on fiddle with her virtuosity in Irish traditional music, paired with her singing in the Irish language, Jack O’Reilly as lead singer as well as his tight guitar rhythms and hot hand driving the songs, Liam Tierney is unmistakable for his eccentric box playing, sporadic showmanship and energy that matches with Sam Purcell who always fills the pocket on the drums and Eoin Salmon who lays down the low end on bass to drive CLADA’s sound, giving it that dance rhythm and raw edge.
With the Irish Traditional sound that CLADA have meticulously honed, their use of different musical styles and varieties can be heard throughout their ensembles ranging from Irish traditional, folk, pop and elements of dance music which gives traditional Irish music a fresh lift to keep it on par with the releases in todays modern mainstream genres.
CLADA hope to establish themselves by making the music more accessible to those unfamiliar with the genre by introducing more contemporary techniques and rhythms into their overall sound as well as creating something new for fans returning to the genre.
