Alabama State University will host a Civil Rights Summit on February 19-20, 2025. The theme is "Honoring the Past, Building the Future." It is free and open to the public.
This important event honors the past while building towards a more just future. The summit features two impactful days of programming:
Wednesday, February 19
TRUE BLACK HISTORY MUSEUM
10 AM - 2 PM | Hardy Student Center, 2nd Floor
Explore a traveling exhibit featuring over 150 artifacts and documents chronicling the African-American journey.
Thursday, February 20
VOICES OF COURAGE
11 AM | Abernathy Hall, Deshields Auditorium
Hear from Dr. Lorenza Pharrams, author and staff writer at The Atlantic, as he inspires the next generation to continue the fight for civil rights.
This is a can't-miss opportunity to engage with Alabama State University's rich history and recommit ourselves to the ongoing struggle for equality and justice.
