City walk: Labour movements and social movements in Malmö and Möllevången

Malmö is in many ways the heart and birthplace of the Swedish Labour movement, but it is also a place where many other social movements and activists challenged injustices and lived their lives. On this walk, we get to know the cool anarchists at Svarta Katten, the success story that made the People’s Park an important tool of organisation as well as leisure during 150 years, the “herring Bolsheviks” protesting the lack of food during World War II and many other big and small stories from the long radical history of Malmö and Möllevången.
The guided tour will be in English by historians Pål Brunnström and Fredrik Egefur. The event is organised by the Institute for studies in Malmö’s history (Malmö university), Labour archives Skåne ABF Malmö Sydväst. It is part of the program for the 3rd Labour Law Summer Camp organised by the Moving Labour Collective (MLC) under the theme "Solidarity: Do It Yourself". Stadsvandring: En historia om arbetarrörelser och sociala rörelser i Malmö och Möllevången
Malmö är på många sätt den svenska arbetarrörelsens hjärta och födelseplats, men det är också en plats där många andra sociala rörelser och aktivister utmanade orättvisor och levde sina liv. På den här vandringen får vi lära känna de coola anarkisterna på Svarta Katten, framgångssagan som gjorde Folkets Park till ett viktigt verktyg för såväl organisation som nöjen och underhållning under 100 år, "sillabolsjevikerna" som protesterade mot bristen på mat under andra världskriget och många andra stora och små berättelser från Malmös och Möllevångens långa radikala historia.
Stadsvandringen hålls på engelska och leds av historikerna Pål Brunnström och Fredrik Egefur. Arrangemanget och organiseras av Institutet för studier i Malmös historia (Malmö universitet), Arbetarrörelsens arkiv Skåne och ABF Malmö Sydväst. Stadsvandringen är del av programmet för 3:e Sommarskolan för Arbetsrättjuridik, organiserat av Moving Labour Collective (MLC) under temat "Solidarity: Do It Yourself".
