City of Water Day and Jamaica Bay Festival: Art in the Park and Fishing
About this Event
Celebrate City of Water Day, Jamaica Bay Festival and the grand opening of our new SUBMERSE NY public art project LITTORAL/ LITORAL! Explore all things water and Jamaica Bay by making your own art at Hendrix Creek Patio and/or heading down to penn pier to go fishing!
ART IN THE PARK:
Stop by Hendrix Creek Patio from 10-2pm to create cyanotype art using found objects with Camila A. Morales, the artist behind our new SUMBERSE NY art installation!
This program is FREE! All supplies will be provided, while supplies last.
Registration is not required for this portion of the program. All ages are welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
FISHING:
Fishing will be at the Penn pier. The pier is approximately 0.5 miles from the Pennsylvania Avenue Parking Lot along a paved path. You will have to walk 15-20 minutes along Hendrix Creek Road to meet up at the pier for the program. See attached map.
Each fishing session is limited to 15 fishing rods; families/small groups are encouraged to share a rod. All supplies, including rods and bait will be provided.
Session times: 10:00am to 10:45pm | 11:00am to 11:45am | 12:00pm to 12:45pm | 1:00pm to 1:45am

Adaptable fishing equipment is available, but limited in supply per session. Specialized equipment is reserved for anybody who may need assistance holding a rod. Contact us directly for more details about what is available.
