City of Tahlequah Special Election

On August 25, 2026, registered voters of Tahlequah, OK will decide two sales tax propositions approved by the City Council through Ordinances 1396-2026 and 1397-2026.
The first proposition is a permanent 0.25% General Fund Sales Tax, which would provide funding for general government needs, including emergency services and parks and recreation.
The second proposition is a temporary 0.50% Capital Improvement Sales Tax, which would fund twelve capital improvement projects (listed below in no particular order) and expire in 2043.

The City currently has a 0.75% sales tax approved with the 2013 bond program. If approved by voters, this measure would serve as an extension of the existing tax, not a tax increase.
