City of Brighton’s Touch-a-Truck returns August 22

The City of Brighton is bringing out its heavy machinery for the annual Touch-A-Truck on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Brighton City Hall (500 S. 4th Avenue).
The event will begin with a sensory-friendly experience from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Children with sensory sensitivities are encouraged to attend during this time to enjoy the event without sirens, horns, or other loud noises.
Touch-A-Truck gives kids of all ages the chance to climb, explore, and even sit behind the wheel of a wide variety of vehicles while meeting the people who operate them. Attendees can check out police cars, fire trucks, tractors, snowplows, loaders, and more. An air ambulance is also scheduled to land at 11 a.m. (subject to availability). Kids will have the opportunity to help decorate one of the city’s snowplows with paint.
Limited parking will be available at City Hall. Please be respectful when parking in nearby residential areas and follow all posted restrictions, including not blocking fire hydrants or property access.
