Circular Economy Speaker Series: Food Systems

Following the success of our 2023 event, the Circular Economy Speaker Series: Food Waste Reduction returns for another inspiring session! Join us for this free, in-person event at the Ambrosia Banquet & Event Centre to learn how local businesses and non-profits are building a more sustainable, circular food system - by rescuing edible food to feed the community and diverting food waste from the landfill to strengthen climate resilience. Learn practical strategies to reduce food waste, discover why a circular food system is essential, and find out how you can support local organizations and businesses driving this change.

After the presentations and panel discussion, connect with local champions at info booths and enjoy complimentary samples of locally sourced vegetarian food and beverages.

Catering will be provided by students and staff from the Stelly's Culinary Arts Program, using rescued food generously donated by the Mustard Seed. Beverages will include non-alcoholic cider from Lifecycles Project. Help prevent waste by bringing a container to take food home at the end of the night!

Accessibility details:

• Parking: There are three accessible parking spaces available at the Centennial Square parkade, directly across the street from the venue. Real-time availability for all parking spots, including accessible ones, can be checked at victoria.ca/parking.
• Wheelchair Access: The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, with a ramp at the main entrance. The main event space is located on the same level.
• Washrooms: There are two gendered washrooms and one accessible washroom located within the venue.
• Childminding services: We will have childminding services available. If possible, please let us know in advance if you plan to attend with children via the contact info below.
• Event Accessibility: Please let us know via the contact info below if you require any assistive technology or accommodations, such as real-time captioning, ASL interpretation, or other supports.
