Come eat tasty food and enjoy an Intro to Circling in community! We'll share emotional intimacy, relational skill-building, & inner healing.About this Event
We'll gather to break bread and share an introduction to Circling – a group “relational meditation” practice in which we bring non-judgmental awareness to what's unfolding within us and between us in every moment – while honing our self awareness and our tools for more authentic, emotionally intimate relationships.
WHEN: Thursday, May 21st from 5-7:30pm.
Doors open at 4:45pm; potluck starts at 5pm.
Please arrive by 5:45pm for the Circling Intro.
WHERE: 92 Peabody Ln, Greenfield, MA 01301
Facilitators: Indigo Dawn (they/them) & Fuzzy Shostak (they/them) - more info down below.
WHAT WE'LL DO:
We'll practice “Focus Circling": as a group we'll place our curious attention on the Focus Person, with the intention to "get their world." The others in the circle are encouraged to use “I statements,” sharing observations (e.g. "I'm noticing..."), reflections (e.g. “I really felt you when...”), and curious questions (e.g. "What's that like?") about the Focus Person, and treat them as complete and lovable just as they are.
The role of the facilitator in circling is to compassionately receive *whatever* any participant brings, and weave it into the container we're building. So whether it's your first or umpteenth time, this will be a safe container to learn and practice exactly as you are.
