What if nature is not something we visit, but a community to which we already belong? Grounded in research from La Scuola's garden classroom, this workshop explores how young children develop understandings of identity, relationships, and community through experiences of reciprocity with the more-than-human world. We will consider practical and imaginative ways to cultivate an "atelier of nature" in any context, recognizing that meaningful encounters with the natural world can emerge from even the smallest spaces when we approach nature not as something outside ourselves, but as an intrinsic part of who we are.
