🇧🇬 As part of our Focus on Bulgaria, the Wladigeroff Brothers are coming to Luxembourg with a live soundtrack to F. W. Murnau’s silent-film classic "Tartuffe” (1925), joined by Stoil Ivanov on drums & percussion.
This event is part of “Pause meets CinEast”, the jazz matinée series we have organised in partnership with neimënster for many years.
🎶 The Wladigeroff Brothers
Grandsons of Pancho Vladigerov, one of Bulgaria’s most celebrated composers and a pioneer in combining Bulgarian folk music with Western classical traditions, twin brothers Alexander and Konstantin Wladigeroff come from one of Bulgaria’s most renowned musical families,
Born in Sofia in 1978, the brothers continued their musical studies in Vienna and have since developed an international career as composers and performers. Their distinctive sound blends Bulgarian folklore with jazz, classical influences, swing, funk and contemporary grooves.
They have performed at venues and festivals across Europe and around the world, while also collaborating with major theatre institutions including Vienna’s Burgtheater and Volkstheater.

Directed by F. W. Murna “Tartuffe” is a 1925 German silent comedy based on Molière’s famous satire on religious hypocrisy. For this special screening, the film will be accompanied by a live musical interpretation by the Wladigeroff Brothers & Stoil Ivanov.
