Powaqqatsi a 1988 non-narrative documentary film is the second installment in the Qatsi trilogy. The film explores the lives of people in developing nations and the impact of modernization on their cultures and traditions.
The title "Powaqqatsi" is a Hopi word meaning "life in transition". The film uses stunning visuals and a captivating music score to depict the struggles and triumphs of these societies as they navigate the complexities of industrialization. It contrasts the beauty and rawness of traditional practices with the allure and potential pitfalls of modern technology.
