Our Cineforum Italia initiative, in collaboration with Slachtstraat Filmtheater in Utrecht, resumes in 2025.
This initiative has become a well-established format, with every screening selling out.
ENGLISH SUBTITLES: The films will have English subtitles to promote our high-quality cinema to non-Italian speakers as well.
DISCOUNTED TICKETS: You can get discounted tickets by selecting the "ACLI MEMBERS DISCOUNT" option on the Cinema’s webpage.
FILM INTRODUCTION: The films will be preceded by a brief introduction in Italian by our cinema expert volunteers.
DISCUSSION: After the screening, we will move to a reserved room for a brief interactive discussion.
DRINKS: At the end, you’ll have the chance to grab a drink at the cinema’s bar and enjoy a moment of socializing and networking with the participants.

SYNOPSIS
Set in 1944 in the remote mountain village of Vermiglio, the film follows the life of a local family disrupted by the arrival of Pietro, a wounded deserter. His presence and relationship with the schoolteacher's eldest daughter will change the course of their lives.

Vermiglio won the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
It was selected as Italy's entry for the 97th Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category.
