The 17th edition of CinEast will kick off with a dynamic burst of Gypsy music and Balkan energy! 🔥🎙️ Lidiya Koycheva is the daughter of an internationally renowned accordionist, singer, and composer father and a professional Balkan folk dancer mother, and a true daughter of the arts. Originating from central Bulgaria, she began her musical journey with classical piano training, winning international competitions and touring Europe with her father and talented pianist brother. At 17, Lidiya moved to Italy, where she rekindled her passion for singing and Balkan folk music, embracing her heritage with its unique rhythms and dissonances. Lidiya's voice soon gained prominence on the World Music scene. She has performed at numerous international festivals and has released six albums and shared the stage with notable artists like Goran Bregović, Incognito, Eugenio Bennato, Alvaro Soler, and Dubioza Kolektiv.
Lidiya and her Balkan Orkestra will transport the audience at Melusina into her vibrant world, by creating a lively, authentic Balkan party.
After the performance, the night will continue with a very special DJ set by Berlin-based Karacho Rabaukin, who is behind the successful Diskoteka Balkanska parties famed for explosive mixes of Roma sounds, Balkan beats, klezmer, eastern ska, polka punk and electroswing.
Throughout the event, a variety of authentic Eastern European dishes will be available to boost your energy levels.
