CinciKiz Power Surge: Heart-of-the-Music Edition w/ Cesar Wilson

This Power Surge is for all dancers who seek to better understand the elements and evolution of semba and kizomba music and expand their knowledge of Angolan culture. If you love semba and kizomba music, this is an afternoon and evening not to be missed.

CinciKiz welcomes special guest instructor, Cesar Wilson. Born and raised in Angola, Cesar grew up with the sounds of semba and kizomba. He comes to Cincinnati from Chicago, bringing his first-hand knowledge of the culture and history, and his unique, interactive method of deconstructing and constructing the musical elements to deepen our understanding. Cesar will guide us through an elevated afternoon of learning, followed by a focused dance practice hour intended for us to apply what we learn. Then, we will return to Studio Z for an evening of dancing, featuring kizomba and semba music, brought to use by Cincinnati’s own - DJ SeamLes.
