Title: “How You Make a Project Happen in BC”
An interactive fireside chat with Brian Kynoch, President of Imperial Metals.
One of the few leaders who has successfully taken multiple projects from exploration to operation. Drawing on his experience with Nickel Plate, Mount Polley, and Red Chris mines, Brian shares what it really takes to permit and build a mine in BC. Lessons we can all use as we look to bring more projects to life.

Keynote Speaker - Brian Kynoch, President of Imperial Metals
Brian Kynoch is the President of Imperial Metals and has been with the Company since 1995. Imperial Metals owns and operates the Mount Polley mine, owns 30% of the Red Chris mine which it permitted and built, and owns the Huckleberry mine which is on care and maintenance.
A Civil Engineer and a member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, Brian has been involved in exploration, permitting, development, commissioning, operation and reclamation of numerous mines and mineral properties across British Columbia.
There are few individuals in the province who have been involved in the successful permitting and opening of 3 mines in British Columbia. Brian is one of them. Brian was a big part successful exploration, permitting and development of the Nickel Plate, Mount Polley, and Red Chris mines.
