Rising Kites is pleased to announce its first ever Christmas Storytime and Singalong Party to support the mission of Rising Kites this holiday season. Featuring SW Michigan resident, author and playwright Denise McGowan Tracy reading passages from her book, Eleanor’s Very Merry Christmas Wish, a holiday singalong and more on Saturday, December 13th from 11:00AM – 12:30PM.
Guests can gather with their favorite beverage and a treat for a fun holiday event including the book reading and more. “Eleanor” is the perfect book for anyone who believes that wishes do come true. This heartfelt, humorous book tells the story of a ragdoll who lives in the magical world of The North Pole. She loves her North Pole family yet has one wish – a universal wish - for a best friend and home of her own. With help from Santa’s elves, Eleanor realizes that wishing is not enough. You must take action to make your dreams come true. This lesson and a love of COOKIES(!)! are sprinkled throughout the story teaching children – and reminding their grown-ups – of the importance of family, friends and so much more.

Rising Kites Coffee is a program within Rising Kites, a registered 501(c)3 that provides employment and job training opportunities to individuals with intellectual disabilities, fosters an inclusive environment where all individuals are encouraged to see the gift that people with disabilities are to our world and helps cover the continual costs of the Rising Kites Bag program which provides encouragement, education, and resources to families new to the Down syndrome community
Guests at the event will be able to purchase signed, personalized copies of the book on site.
Additionally, gift packages including a copy of the book, “Eleanor” ornament and themed merchandise will also be available.
