In this workshop, you will make a Christmas tree luminaire, suitable for small fairy lights or a battery operated tealight. This class is suitable for beginners as well as anyone who attended a previous workshop. I am a qualified teacher and the class is taught in small groups of 8-10. It takes place at Walrus Studios at Earsham Hall near Bungay.
Your Christmas tree will be made using the slab building technique with pierced holes so the light will shine through. You can decide on your own design and you'll also be able to decorated your tree with underglaze to add colour or just leave it white. I will fire your Christmas tree, give it a transparent glaze and then fire them for the final time.
All equipment and materials are supplied and you will be able to make, glaze and take home (in a couple of weeks after firing) a unique piece of pottery that you have made yourself.
Pottery is fantastic for relaxation, mindfulness and well-being as well as being an incredibly rewarding hobby.
Included:
All materials, including clay and underglaze.
Firing and a final clear glaze.
All equipment.
