Mark your calendars and join us for a weekend full of holiday cheer at Christmas in the Valley!
The festivities begin on Saturday evening, December 12, with "The Night Before Christmas in the Valley" Community Sing-Along at 6:00 PM. This year's sing-along will be hosted by St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 1377 Lester Road, Valley City. Gather with family, friends, and neighbors as we kick off the holiday season with an evening of festive music and community spirit.
On Sunday, December 13, the celebration continues throughout historic downtown Valley City with a full day of holiday fun for all ages. The day begins with a 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk, followed by our beloved Christmas Parade, featuring festive floats, marching bands, community groups, and plenty of hometown holiday spirit.
Families will find activities around every corner, including a Kids Zone, scavenger hunt, Mrs. Claus story times, cookie decorating, and much more. Be sure to stop by the Valley City Depot to visit Santa Claus and share your Christmas wishes!
The Valley City Fire Station has our FREE Chili Cook-Off, where you can sample delicious homemade chili while enjoying a beer tent, raffles, sideboards, and plenty of opportunities to win great prizes. Catch the game on the big-screen TV before strolling through downtown to explore more than 70 Holiday Market vendors located inside local businesses, offering unique gifts, handcrafted items, holiday décor, delicious treats, and more.
Whether you're coming for the food, family fun, shopping, or holiday traditions, there's something for everyone at Christmas in the Valley. Bring the whole family—including your well-behaved, leashed pets—and spend the day making memories in Valley City's favorite holiday tradition!
