South Church will be hosting a drive-thru 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 to support 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡
The Olive Branch is a heart-led, year-round community resource hosted through the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) in Glastonbury. The Olive Branch provides brand-new toys, gifts, comfort items, and essentials to children, teens, and families connected to DCF, including foster children, youth in group homes, birth families, kinship families, and youth receiving services.
Families are invited to “shop” with dignity at no cost for birthdays, holidays, special milestones, and “just because” moments that remind children they are cared for and valued. The Olive Branch serves children of all ages throughout the entire year and is supported through the kindness of community members, volunteers, organizations, and donors who believe every child deserves joy, comfort, and hope.
The Olive Branch gratefully welcomes donations of 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 items from the wish list below.
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 of the children include sports equipment, jump ropes, hula hoops, beach towels, arts and crafts supplies, teen craft kits, journals, backpacks, board games, LEGO sets, baby dolls and accessories, action figures, sensory toys, building blocks, interactive books, stuffed animals, and gift cards for older children.
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭, donations may be dropped off at the church office Tuesday-Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm, or on Sunday mornings. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡.
