There's something for everyone at this year's Christmas event in Dewsbury...We're filling the town centre with family-friendly festivities, and it's the perfect recipe for a fun day out. So don your coziest hat and gloves, fill your hands with a hot drink and some festive food, and enjoy a fantastic selection of entertainment for all ages!
✨ Explore Dewsbury Christmas Market outside the town hall.
✨ A Community Music Stage will host an array of local acts throughout the day, including bhangra artist Hardeep Sahota, singer Mitchy, the Yorkshire Folk Choir and the Musica Combined Children's Choir.
✨ Theatre company Topsy Turvy Christmas will perform their show family-friendly show 'Christopher's Christmas'.
✨ Children's performers Tell Tale Hearts will share their Winter Trunk Tales, using a magical trunk to share stories and adventures from all around the world.
✨ Visit the Santa's Grotto at the Arcade Pop-up, with face-painting and fun.
✨ Try your hand at lantern-making with the Children's Art School at MakerWorld.
✨ Get crafty with some 'make and take' activities through WOVEN, including the chance to make your own festive rag wreath.
✨ Make your contribution to a giant colouring wall by artist Ruth Dyer.
✨ Get creative in the Creative Scene Pow Space - an open space for art and creativity.
✨ Enjoy an array of festive food and drink throughout the day.
✨ Keep an eye out for more entertainment around the town centre, including Christmas elves 'Ebor n Gum', Huddersfield Samba, and a beautiful giant barn owl called Thingumajig!
This event is in conjunction with the Arcade Group - a community organisation made up of local residents and business owners, set to manage the Dewsbury Arcade once it reopens next year.
