Join us for a festive poetry stroll along the Regent's Canal & Primrose Hill with tasty mince pies to munch!
About this Event

Following on from the success of last year's christmas day open mic poetry walk, we are back for another christmas day - open to everyone and anyone who wants to share poetry (either your own or a favourite poem by someone else) and to individuals who simply want to hear poetry as they walk and be inspired.

We will walk along the Regent's Canal and onto Primrose Hill at a social pace, sharing our poems with the group along the way. I will guide the group walk, with fun, mindful and creative ice-breakers to help you to connect with nature and inspire your creative spirit.

Please arrive 10 minutes before for registration, we cannot wait for latecomers and you will not be able to join the walk once we have set off. For those who want to share their work please make sure you arrive early to ensure a place on the poetry open mic list. Priority will be given to those sharing their own work but everyone who wants to will get a chance to read at least one poem.

When there are many people who want to share their work, sharing time will be limited to accommodate as many people as possible and will be first to arrive, first on the list. General rule of thumb: readings must not be more than one A4 side/2 minutes in length. There is no theme for the poems.

Please dress for all types of weather :-) so you can be comfortable for the duration of the walk = waterproofs (no umbrellas please as area of vision is reduced), gloves, hats and remember to wear waterproof non slip footwear as it can get very muddy, wet and uneven.

The walk will end in Primrose Hill.

Over 16s only, please do not bring your pets along to the walk.

Some of the group may go for a cuppa afterwards and you are welcome to join.

MINCE PIES WILL BE PROVIDED :-)
