CHRISTMAS DAY OPEN MIC POETRY WALK ALONG REGENT'S CANAL with mince pies

A Christmas day walk with a difference, for creatives, writers , poets and anyone who wants to share a piece of their written work as they walk, as well as for individuals who simply want to come along and be inspired as they walk.

We will walk along the Regent's Canal at a social pace, sharing our work with the group along the way. I will guide the group walk, with fun, mindful and creative games to help you to connect with nature and inspire your creative spirit.

​Please arrive 15 minutes before for registration, we cannot wait for latecomers and you will not be able to join the walk once we have set off. For those who want to share their work please make sure you arrive early to ensure a place on the poetry open mic list. You can also share a favourite poem if not your own work, but priority will be given to those sharing their own work.

When there are many people who want to share their work, sharing time will be limited to accommodate as many people as possible and will be first to arrive, first on the list. General rule of thumb: readings must not be more than one A4 side/2 minutes in length. There is no theme for the shared writing.

Please dress for all types of weather, waterproofs (no umbreallas as area of vision is reduced), and wear waterproof non slip footwear as it can get muddy and uneven. Over 18s only, please do not bring your pets along to the walk.

Will we try to find somewhere open to go for a cuppa afterwards and you are welcome to join.

MINCE PIES WILL BE PROVIDED :-)

YOU MAY WANT TO BRING A THERMOS OF HOT DRINK FOR YOU TO HAVE AS WE MAY NOT FIND A CAFE OPEN FOR THE DURATION OF THE WALK OR AFTER.
