The SEGC will host the 15th running of the Christmas Cup lure coursing trial on Saturday and Sunday, December 14-15 at Bouckaert Farm, home of Chattahoochee Hills Eventing, near Fairburn.
The Christmas Cup, operating under National Lure Coursing Club (NLCC) rules, will feature a day of competition, a traditional holiday lunch, a Greyhound cookie exchange (open to all breeds), and fun runs for guests.
In the morning, the first runners will take to the field and run the courses. Around midday, we’ll have a traditional holiday lunch for sale (first come, first served). Lunches are $5 and first come, first served.
After lunch, we’ll start our final rounds of lure coursing and find out who will go home with the day’s trophy and ribbons. A short awards ceremony and photos will follow the competition.
FINALLY, after all lure coursing is done, we will hold fun runs on the drag lure for anyone who wants to let their Greyhound enjoy the thrill of the chase -- they can run just a straight, or a partial course.
PLEASE bring cash for the fun run fee — $5 for each Greyhound or other breed run.
Our schedule at the field is ALWAYS variable — clear your calendar and plan to spend the day in the country with the Southeastern Greyhound Club!
