An Artist-Led Adult & Child Block Printing Workshop
Join me for a fun, festive traditional Indian woodblock printing workshop, designed for an adult and child to enjoy creating together at Oswestry Memorial Hall.
This is a small group workhshop with just 7 adults and child pairs, giving you plenty of time to explore pattern, colour and Christmas designs together.
You'll begin by experimenting with a wonderful selection of hand-carved wooden printing blocks, learning how to use the blocks and textile paints and practicing your ideas onto cotton fabric.
You'll then choose a blank item to create your own handprinted Christmas design, as well as printing Christmas cards and present tags to take home.
During the workshop you will:
- Learn how to use traditional hand-carved wooden printing blocks
- Explore colour, pattern and simple repeat designs
- Practice printing on cotton fabric to build confidence
- Adults: choose and print your own drawstring bag or bottle bag
- Children: choose and print your own Christmas stocking or drawstring bag
- Print your own Christmas cards and presen tags
- Enjoy two hours of creative time together
All materials are provided.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Each ticket is for one adult and one child only
- Children must be accompanied by their participating adult throughout the workshop
- The accompanying adult remains responsbile for the supervision and safety of their child at all times
- Both the adult and child will take part in the printing activities and create their own fabric item to take home
