I’ve always wanted to perform.

Comedy, improv, storytelling, characters, music, ridiculous ideas. I’ve spent my whole life watching people do things and thinking, “I want to try that.”

So I’m finally trying all of it.

Christine’s Variety Hour is my first-ever one-woman show AND my first time doing anything even remotely resembling an open mic. Instead of starting with five minutes like a reasonable person, I gave myself an hour.

This isn’t an hour of traditional stand-up. I’m not really a setup-punchline kind of gal. I like big stories, big movements, characters, improv, audience reactions and seeing where an idea takes me.

Basically, I finally get to try all the things I’ve always wanted to try - live, in front of actual human beings.

I have no idea exactly what this show is going to become.

That’s kind of the whole point.
