Holi has always aimed to promote unity in Christchurch and is built on the traditional themes of forgiveness and togetherness. The event provides a welcoming and inclusive space to come together as one city and celebrate the many different people that call Ōtautahi home.Holi 2026 will focus on building understanding of different cultures in Christchurch through showcasing traditional performances, food, games and stories.
Christchurch Holi is brought to you by Homes By Parklane, Sandeep Khanna Mortgages, Revel Events , Maia Foods Christchurch, Spectrum Lighting and Sound, and backed by Christchurch City Council, Christchurch Multicultural Council and Eminence Design.
Tips for the day:
Wear old clothes as the colour may not wash out.
Wear comfortable flat shoes that you don't mind getting stained.
Bring cash to buy colour and enjoy delicious Holi food.
Parking is limited so plan your trip before the day.
*Please do not bring your own colours. Our colours are corn-flour based, non-toxic and cosmetic grade. They are safe for children and adults.
Entry to this festival is free* and Holi is strictly an alcohol & drug free event.
