Be part of the magic and become a PARADE MAKER this summer.
Join Christchurch Carnival and our Parade sponsors The Kings Arms Hotel on the 17th August in celebrating the local area and the wonderful people and communities it is made from. Are you part of an organisation, groups or club who would like to become a PARADE MAKER this year, if so keep reading!
It is completely FREE to enter the parade, we just ask you to bring big, positive, carnival vibes with you to help us raise money for two brilliant local charities. As an entry you are welcome to engage directly with the hundreds of visitors and locals lining the 1 mile parade route. This could be in the form of handing out leaflets, sweets, high fives, stickers or selfies.
Walk the route with your organisation's banner, get dressed up or really go for it by picking a theme like the amazing Highcliffe Bluetits. You are welcome to play music, live or recorded, dance and boogie your way down onto the quay or get some practice in like Christchurch Rugby Club does. Do you have an amazing vehicle hiding in the shed like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or could you be a driver for a group? And there are prizes to be won!!
This year all money raised via our donation buckets will be split between Julia's House Children's Hospice who care for some of Dorset’s most seriously ill children and Christchurch Community Partnership who work to tackle isolation and loneliness in adults living alone.

We are also after volunteers to assist us; if you would like more information on being a marshal - no previous experience needed, it's great fun and you get a brilliant view of the whole parade - a bucketter - you get to actually be in the parade! or part of the organising team please get in touch we would love to have a chat.
