Christchurch Art Event & Viewing | Works of Art Live Auction

Join Webb’s Art Department in Christchurch for the launch and exhibition of highlights from our November Works of Art catalogue.
Ahead of the live auction in Auckland, this is an unmissable opportunity to interact with stand-out works by significant artists. The catalogue brings together several significant private and corporate collections. Christchurch presents the St Ives Collection in full: British and Irish modernism by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson and their contemporaries, consigned from a New Zealand collector. Also, on view are highlights from a major Wellington private collection, unseen outside a private home for many years, alongside Bill Hammond’s In the Chapel (2016) and works by Rita Angus, Nigel Brown, Fred Graham, Ralph Hotere, Richard Killeen, Fiona Pardington, and Grahame Sydney.
The wider catalogue includes The Darcy Nicholas Collection of Māori Ceramics featuring works by founding members of the Ngā Kaihanga Uku collective, and works by renowned national and international artists.
We hope you can join our Christchurch Senior Specialist Sean Duxfield to experience these pieces in person.
Works of Art is New Zealand’s premier live art auction, presenting a curated selection of museum‑quality, investment‑level artworks by leading New Zealand and international artists, supported by nationwide exhibitions and events.
