Christ, Kingdom, and Politics

We live in challenging times; Christian truth and morality are not honoured in our nation. How should we respond? What does the Bible have to say about our national life? Should we simply make Biblical law the law of the land? Or should we withdraw from politics and power to focus on discipleship and evangelism? Dr Graham Shearer will give us principles for Christian involvement in politics, showing us how we can honour Christ and love our neighbour.

is Lecturer in Theology at Union College, Belfast.

You are invited to join this seminary lecture on 16th June 2026 . These lectures are intended for pastors and those preparing for ministry, but others may be interested and welcome to join us.

The format of the day will go as follows :

• 10:00 am – arrival (tea/coffee)
• 10:20 am – 1:00 pm (lectures with a break)
• 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (lunch*)
• 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
