Chrisp Street Winter Festival

Come and join us for the Chrisp Street Winter Festival - a FREE community celebration of lights as we illuminate the winter evenings.

Here's a taste of what to expect:

• Live music performances and entertainment including local young talent from Spotlight - Poplar HARCA'S youth services programme - alongside Bhangra Dance London and CK Gospel Choir.
• Visit the man in red - Santa, in his grotto!
• Light Switch On moment as we light up the Tree and Chrisp Street
• Lantern making workshop
• Make a wish craft workshop
• A lantern parade
• Mini Ferris Wheel for young Children
• 'Twas the Night Before Christmas Storytelling inside The Idea Store
• An opportunity to post your Letter to Santa, and enter a prize draw to win 2 x £50 Chrisp Street Voucher, or 1 of 6 x £25 Chrisp Street Vouchers.

Spread the word and invite your friends and family to join us on Chrisp Street for some festive magic - we look forward to seeing you there.

The Man in Red is putting in an appeareance!.. He may even let little kids, and big kids, take a photo with him.

Visit the stage in Market Square for an uplifting programme of music and dance, to get you in the festive mood.

Light up Chrisp Street! Join the lantern making workshop & then spread the joy in the Lantern Parade.

Write & post your letter to Santa in the special post box at the Clock Tower for a chance to win Chrisp Street Shopping Vouchers.

Don't miss the magic of the tree & light switch on at 4pm.

Taking place throughout 2025, this event series celebrates Poplar's culture, creative and amazing community. From film screenings, to dance and music performances and a Light Switch On, this is not a series to miss.

Info: Gather around the tree in Market Square, as we get into the festive mood before the Tree and Light Switch on at 4pm.

Info: Make your own lantern at our lantern making workshop from 12 noon in Market Square. Then gather at 15.00, with your twinkling creations, as we light up Chrisp Street Market, in our magical parade!

Info: Join our lantern making work shop from 12noon. Then gather in Market Square to light up Chrisp Street Market, as the parade winds round the market, ahead of the Christmas Tree and Light switch on. Join the fun!

Info: Take a seat upstairs on the 1st Floor of the Idea Store, and be swept away with this magical story, with plenty of fun and interaction for all ages.
