A powerful and raunchy rhythm & blues 5-piece bringing you blues with a hint of jazz, lots of energy and more than a touch of “sauce”. The band is driven by the superb vocals of Chris Lord supported by a heady mix of sax and guitar; all built upon a first-class rhythm section. The Blues Express have been together for over 20 years and the current line-up comprises Chris Lord (lead vocals); Rick Booth (guitar and vocals); DonaldLang (sax); Rick Philpott (drums) with special guest Dave Troy on bass.
Chris and the boys take great pains to dig out some rare gems of lesser-known songs going back to the heady, and often seedy, days of blues in the 30s and 40s whilst adding their own interpretation to more familiar tracks ensuring their performance is sometimes surprising, but always fun.
