Jeremiah Wheeler Landscape and Gardening presents Chris Hall’s Half K and it's sure to be so much fun.
The Half K is to sorta poke fun at the endless stream of 5k runs in town. It’s good-spirited shenanigans that adults will enjoy. It’s all of the fun of a “fun run” without the worst part: the running.
Participants NOT RUN in a Half K (or .31 miles or 1640 feet). You and your friends will check-in at 56 Quartz Hill in Redding, CA (Lake Redding Pavilion).
But .31 miles is a long way, so there is a refreshment station at the halfway point. At the bridge, you will be refreshed with not just a water station, but complimentary donuts from Heavenly Donuts. Now that you have all your energy reserves filled up, you’ll head back to the finish line.
At the completion of the Half K, all participants get a 1st place medal for kids and a participant rubbon for adults and are greeted with a complimentary beer. Racers will also get some SWAG, including an amazingly smug .31 oval sticker for your car.
Before and after the race, there's a Mimosa station and a Bloody Mary station, a bunch of fun, wacky games, and Dunk the Dad dunk tank. We'll have a DJ spinning and Odell's BBQ will be cooking up something nice for you.
And, yes sir (or ma’am), do we have a great charity. All of the proceeds go to Redding Sundial Kiwanis. All of the money raised goes to help hungry kids eat. We have a Food Pantry in every school in the Enterprise Elementary School District and hope that, with your help, we can expand it to every school in Redding.
So this Father's Day, don't buy your dad a tie he'll never wear or a coffee mug he'll never drink out of period buy your dad what he really wants: beer and donuts.
