Opening Reception: Friday., August 14, 2026 • 5-7pm
Exhibition Dates: August 6th- September 27th, 2026
Chris Dacre is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, educator and KVMRx radio deejay.
These current artworks reflect three years of exploring painting as a medium. Moving between meticulous, reference-based painting and work created purely from imagination, I developed a visual dialogue across the pieces—a fragmented and often humorous exploration of the strange relationships between living beings and inanimate objects.
From 2004 to 2017 I created work for my WAR is FUN! installations which transformed the heavy subject matter of war into large-scale, satirical environments influenced by my time in the U.S. Air Force. These works examine militarism, conflict, and the uneasy overlap between childhood play and adult warfare. I wanted to include some of that work in this exhibition because war continues to feel like a constant presence in our everyday lives.
