This soul stirring documentary beautifully tells the myriad stories and sounds of American choral singers and leaders–stories that inspire, build community, foster hope, and showcase the tremendous social capital and community building of singing together. America sings in schools, in communities, in concert halls, on the streets, in churches and synagogues, in prisons, in hospice centers, and wherever hearts are moved to join in song.
Join us at 7:00 pm on August 11 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City for this remarkable film. It will be followed by a Q&A from the GRAMMY Award winning conductor Jerry Blackstone and internationally acclaimed conductor Emily Ellsworth. Admission is free of charge and there will be a free will offering.
