About this Event
America finds itself struggling to remember essential core values which helped it get past the drumbeats of fascism, racism, homophobia and other horrible prejudicial systems of belief. With all that’s coming at us, how can we keep the faith, get back on course?
There’s only one way: a commitment to hope, tightly wrapped with bravery, compassion and empathy.
Certainly, it’s difficult to act with compassion when we’re afraid and uncertain of the future. But we have many models for overcoming fear—particularly the fear of “other” or “them”—lending to the idea that we are, indeed, capable of getting back on course.
With this interactive workshop. I will share how leaders like Rosa Parks, Dr. King, Robert F. Kennedy Sr. and a relatively unknown poet named Tony Hoagland, lit the way for all of us.
Attendees will come away with valuable tools for renewing hope for our community and America. We are all in this together, and we can do it together!
