Former Ithacan has spent the past 7 years studying cacao and living in the lower Peruvian Amazon. Her journey with cacao started with a profound love for nature and desire to help heal cacao’s relationship with the earth (chocolate is one of the leading causing of agricultural deforestation in cacao-fertile lands such as Peru). This lead her to open a center of investigation surrounding cacao and it’s many socio-environmental influences, both ancient and modern—including what she calls a “mesmerizing” and deep dive into cacao’s therapeutic and medicinal uses today. She looks forward to sharing her story and a few exciting secrets about the transformative power of quality cacao that could change your relationship to chocolate forever.
