About this Event
Join us to hear from Dr. Alexandra Mackenzie John, Professor in Theatre Arts Studies as she discusses "Theatre, Faith & Storytelling: Embodying Sacred Stories on Stage."
Alexandra Mackenzie Johns is a playwright, director, and scholar whose work brings communities’ sacred stories to life through theatre. Originally from Jersey in the British Isles, she now leads playwriting within BYU’s Theatre Arts Studies program, exploring how performance, faith, and place intertwine. Her current projects include research on pilgrimage as performance, medieval women mystics and embodied faith, and a new verbatim theatre piece on returning to belief. Passionate about theatre as a revelatory art form, Alexandra has taught and collaborated with artists across the globe and continues to unite scholarship, creativity, and faith in her work.
As always, we'll enjoy a chocolate treat!
