Join us in celebrating the world-famous story of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, with a special exhibition featuring over 50 original illustrations by John Burningham. This is the first time that John Burningham’s entire set of illustrations from the book by Ian Fleming have been exhibited. Alongside these 60-year-old artworks are exciting new Chitty illustrations for very young and teen audiences, by artists Steve Antony and Thomas Gilbert, many of which have never been shown before.
There’s something for all ages in this delightful summer show. Families can step into the world of this magical flying car through immersive and playful room displays where blown-up images of the car ‘fly’ across the walls. Kids will be introduced to colourful characters including fearsome Joe the Monster’s gang of robbers and inventor Commander Caractacus Potts, and they can have their picture taken at our unique Chitty Chitty selfie station.
Please be aware that the exhibition is in the house which opens at 11am, and last entry to the house is 4pm.
