In 2026, we honour a historic milestone - the 50th death anniversary of the Bengali Rebel Poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam. This year invites us not only to remember Nazrul, but to reconnect with his powerful messages of humanity, equality, and secularism, and to share them with a new generation in Australia.
For the first time in Australia, we proudly present two of Nazrul’s iconic works on one stage:
🎭 Jhilimili (one act play)
🎭 Kaberī Tīre (musical dance drama)
This special production brings together an extraordinary creative team:
✨ Brindaban Das - renowned Bangladeshi theatre director
✨ Adila Noor - acclaimed Nazrul Sangeet artiste
✨ Purabi Chowdhury - celebrated dance choreographer
Together, they reimagine Nazrul’s literature, music, and dance with contemporary staging while preserving their original spirit and purity.
